Sublimation VS. Vinyl

Sublimation requires more work, and more expensive items to create your custom creations. When it comes to shirts in order for Sublimation to work exactly how it is meant to work, It truly needs to be done on proper products. For shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, anything fabric related it needs to be 100% Polyester and they need to be white

There are some fabrics for things such as table runners, pillow cases, blankets and so on that sublimate great when it's microfiber, satin and a few others. but when it comes to Shirts it really needs to be 100% polyester. If it's mixed with cotton it won't last very long, it will wash out, and the percentage that washes out usually matches the amount of cotton that is in the blended shirt, example a 50/50 cotton, polyester shirt, 50 percent of the ink will wash out, It will look faded, old and or have the "Vintage" look to it, Granted some people love this look, and we understand that.

Secondly The ink is special ink, it is not the same ink that is used in an inkjet printer that you would use to print out paper work, or pictures. This special ink also does not print white, hence why sublimation needs to be done on white blanks (this is what the items are called that we sublimate) You can do it on lighter color shirts and even some darker like red but you'd really only be able to do black text, image on dark colors, You can not sublimate on black. When you use a shirt (or fabric) that is not white, and your image contains white, any white area of your image is going to become the color of the shirt,

With all of this said, you may think our prices are on the higher end, but my blanks cost more to do sublimation than they do to do vinyl. But Sublimation will last forever, when done properly, and the proper steps are taken when washing. Example if you have a coffee mug that is sublimated that image will last forever, the only thing that would make it come off is if the mug gets broken and even then the image is still there it's just broken.
Vinyl on the other hand, will eventually start peeling and coming off especially when put in a dryer or when fabric softeners are used.

Vinyl
Vinyl can be put on anything, from cotton to polyester, The Blanks are much cheaper and a lot easier to obtain, if you want vinyl on a mug, that can be bought at any store it can be any color, any material. The only thing vinyl doesn't stick to is silicone -but then again that's the point of silicone nothing is supposed to stick to it ;)
However, Vinyl doesn't last very long, some times people can have shirts done in vinyl that last several years, But if you ask them "How often do you wear them?" Usually the response is Once or twice a year. But if it's a shirt that is worn once a week it's not going to last as long.
